Sheep to Shawl and Everything in Between
Fiber artist, Susan Makuka, (aka The Fairy God Spinner) will demonstrate the steps between the shearing of sheep and the finished woolen item you don on a cold snowy day. The presentation will include the demonstration of authentic equipment from colonial times and should prove entertaining to historians as well as fiber artists. Join us for a Halloween themed Victorian Tea. Costumes are encouraged but not mandatory. Enjoy fruit, a variety of sandwiches, a scone and a selection of delicious desserts. The oldest section of the Inskeep House dates to 1771 and the current building includes two 19th Century additions. The rooms are furnished in the period when they were built. Our displays also include Native American artifacts, fossils textiles and early American tools.Also situated on the property are a four seater privy and a butcher shop that originally stood on Main Street.
